Counselling Therapy
There may come a time in your life when extra support, practical tools, effective healing and self-empowerment processes are needed from a qualified professional. It might be due to anxiety, depression, grief, a transition or crisis at home or at work, parenting challenges, a relationship breaking down, or because of residual effects of past trauma. Whatever it may be, I invite you to contact me, for a complimentary conversation; after hearing a sampling of what is troubling you (as a person or as a couple), I will inform you on modalities and approaches I would utilize to help you and generate a sense of relief, repair and restoration of a fuller, more authentic life.
My practice is inclusive of a wide array of individuals and couples of various age range, some of whom may be neuro-divergent, and or from a diversity of cultures and ethnicity. Moreover, my work is holistic in the sense that, as appropriate and relevant to each person, we strive to heal and bring into alignment body-mind-spirit- with biology and neuroscience (particularly the nervous system) included.
As a Registered Therapeutic Counsellor with ACCT (Association of Cooperative Counselling Therapists), and Professional Certified Coach, I use a blend of approaches including Brain-Spotting, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Emotional Freedom Technique, IFS (Internal Family Systems) and Relational Somatic Therapy. As we build deeper trust while working together, professional care comes to support and empower the process of healing and finding resolution of the issues troubling you so you can thrive, not just settle for survival.
The somatic approach means that the client is gently guided to access the wisdom of the body and nervous system through observing possible energy blocks, areas of tension, or other physical expressions that may reflect or contrast with verbal expressions. This also enables us to access the right brain where past traumatic events may still be stored in the implicit memory and impacting present ability to respond rather than react to what happens, and to live fully or function optimally.
Life Coaching as Catalyst
After more than 20 years, experience has shown me that in most coaching clients, at the start, we come to realize that some limiting, conditioning-driven beliefs are impeding best coaching results. It is then imperative to enter the process of identifying and uprooting these beliefs to free up new possibilities of positive change and expansiveness. This process shares similarities with the avenues employed in counselling therapy as mentioned above. For this reason, my well-honed coaching skills and tools are most often integrated in the process of counselling at least during the first couple of sessions and depending on the person.
However, recognizing that everyone is uniquely different, you are welcome to inquire about a pure coaching process in which profound, transformational experiences and insight-generating conversations occur. Additionally, having integrated neuroscience knowledge from James R. Doty, MD. (author of Mind Magic: The Neuroscience of Manifestation and How it Changes Everything) I have become knowledgeable about the innerworkings of manifesting strategies based on deep knowledge of conscious and subconscious minds. Using these tools and practices will generate accelerated results towards your next level of fulfillment and realization of what you have been yearning for.
