My Art

Nature-Honoring Art

Since I’ve re-discovered my passion for dry pastel painting, in the past few years, I have felt driven to paint images of forests that I’ve captured in photographic moments.

Majestic 7

Splendor

With a deep affection for the natural world, I specifically prefer to paint trees that I often see as teachers of life lessons.  For example, Splendor, represented here, from Pacific Spirit Park, shows us that we can be both open, transparent and even vulnerable, while at the same time standing tall and strong, in resilience and continuing growth.  High quality professional prints of these 2 paintings are available, if interested, please inquire by email for sizes and pricing. (Isabelle@inspiredmomentum.com).  I have named this tree Splendor.

And the tree next to this text, also from Pacific Spirit Park, looks up at the unique ways each of 7 trunks, woven together at their base, express themselves in subtle contrasting textures, colors, twists and turns, as they grow towards infinity.  I named this one Majestic 7.

Legacy Painting

After my mother passed away in the summer of 2023, my sister in Montreal sent me a variety of photos from my mother’s life.  Among them was this one: a black and white image of my mother, in her early 20’s, sitting in a rowboat on a lake.  After considering the colors I was to employ, I enjoyed completing this rendition, inspired by the photograph, both of which are included on this page.

Similarly, I am offering to create a legacy painting from a photograph you may have of a loved one, still alive, or not, that would depict the person as you want to remember them, to lend ease in the process of preserving meaningful memories to cherish for years to come.
