Reflecting on 2009 – When all is said and done.

While 2009 has now subsided into history, did you or will you make time to harvest valuable reflections about that year? Like a formidable wave effervescent with possibilities, 2010 is releasing a new decade of exciting opportunities along with sobering challenges. These times call for us all to reassess what really matters most and fine-tune our lives accordingly.

Here are a few suggested questions that can help you to celebrate your gains and identify what you’ve learned over these past 12 months:

  • What accomplishments can you acknowledge or celebrate about 2009?
  • How have you touched other people’s lives around you?
  • What moments of triumph over adversity do you remember experiencing?
  • What helped you overcome the challenges you encountered?
  • What are highlights among the most significant learning moments of 2009 and how will you best use that learning during this year?
  • If your heart could speak, what would it say that might guide you, at this time, as we enter this new decade?

Evidently, many of us were challenged in the financial arena in 2009. As result, we tend to feel a collective pull downward into the lower realms of the hierarchy of needs. When we are primarily focused on survival needs, we may become overly pragmatic and we risk gradually reducing our generosity and abandoning our dreams. If we don’t keep ourselves inspired, our souls gradually wither often without us realizing it. Then, we may feel a growing malaise dulling our enjoyment of life while becoming habituated to living within just a fragment of our full potentiality.

This year, resolve to keep your dreams foremost in your heart and your field of vision. One way to do this is simply by writing your vision and related goals at the start of the year and read them at least weekly. You may need to re-write them when your intuition guides you into course-correction while flying within the inspirational current of your life. And as you take time to resource yourself and keep yourself inspired, you will better maintain your altitude, the level of awareness and energy you need to achieve your highest goals and make the best use of your precious life.

I wish you all an absolutely wonderful year, filled with unexpected blessings, radiant health, abundant prosperity andoverflowing love.
